Gift Aid is tax relief on money donated to UK charities: the UK government allowing charities to claim an extra 28% on each donation made by a UK taxpayer.

We are pleased to announce that, in conjunction with Third Sector Design, we are developing this functionality ie a CMS independent Gift Aid implementation for CiviCRM that we shall be open sourcing in due course.

The major components are custom data fields for contacts and contributions, a Gift Aid profile, a couple of Gift Aid tasks, and a Gift Aid report.

We are creating this in an easy to install module.

This implementation has been made possible by contributions from a number of different UK NFP Organisations that have committed money to fund the project (including St Ethelburga's, London Cycling Campaign, and Alpha International).
